A Mississauga high school has achieved a perfect 10 out of 10 rating in the Fraser Institute’s latest provincial school rankings, standing out among Ontario’s top-performing schools.
AL-Manarat Heights Islamic School, a private institution located on Argentia Road, earned the distinction based on academic performance indicators for the 2022-2023 school year. These rankings evaluate high schools on key metrics, including math and literacy achievement.
A Top-Tier Performer
AL-Manarat is one of just five Ontario schools to receive a perfect score out of the 746 schools studied.
The school, which serves students from pre-school to Grade 12, focuses on academic excellence while integrating the principles of the Quran and the teachings of Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him). The rankings, however, only reflect performance at the high school level.
A History of Growth and Excellence
Founded in 2006 with just seven students in a basement, AL-Manarat has steadily expanded its programs and facilities. Today, the school has a student population of approximately 230 and offers education for all grades.
The school’s principal, Nasreen Ali, highlights AL-Manarat’s mission to prepare students for a multicultural, dynamic world.
“(AL-Manarat) trains students to be self-directed, realistic, and responsible decision-makers when solving problems they will encounter in our multicultural ever-changing world from the lens of Quran and the teachings of Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him),” Ali stated on the school’s website.
