Today, January 8, 2025, marks five years since the tragic downing of Ukrainian Airlines Flight PS752. On this day in 2020, 176 innocent lives were lost when the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) struck the civilian airliner, forever altering the lives of families and communities around the world. Among the victims, 138 individuals were traveling to Canada, including 63 Canadian citizens, making this tragedy profoundly personal for our nation.

This solemn anniversary serves as a moment to reflect on the lives lost and the countless dreams cut short. Families of the victims continue to grapple with their loss, seeking solace and answers as they navigate an unimaginable void. The memory of those who perished is a reminder of the fragility of life and the shared responsibility to stand united against such acts of violence.
