Survey Results Indicate Strong Public Support for Doug Ford’s PC Party Ahead of Election Day
With Ontario voters set to cast their ballots on February 27, a new Leger poll suggests that a majority of residents believe Premier Doug Ford’s Progressive Conservative Party will secure victory in the provincial election.
The survey, conducted between February 21 and 23, polled 1,005 Ontario residents on their expectations for the election outcome. Sixty percent of respondents predicted a Progressive Conservative victory, while 13% believed the Liberals would win, 4% favored the NDP, and 23% were undecided or chose not to answer.
In addition to asking who participants thought would win, the poll also inquired about their personal voting intentions if the election were held today. The results showed:
- 47% support for the Progressive Conservatives
- 28% backing the Liberals
- 17% supporting the NDP
- 6% favoring the Green Party
- 2% choosing other parties
As the campaign entered its final hours, party leaders made their last appeals to voters.
“We’re in a fight for the future of our country — I’m going to give it everything I’ve got,” said Progressive Conservative Leader Doug Ford on the X platform.
Liberal Leader Bonnie Crombie urged voters to bring change, stating, “After seven years of Doug Ford, it’s time to change the government.”
NDP Leader Marit Stiles emphasized affordability concerns, saying, “After seven years, everything from groceries to rent is more expensive. This election, we need new leadership and new ideas.”
Green Party Leader Mike Schreiner encouraged voters to take action, declaring, “Tomorrow is the big day. It’s your chance to stand up to Ford and vote for a fairer Ontario.”
Polling locations across Ontario will be open from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. on February 27. Voters who have not received their voter cards in the mail are still eligible to vote in person.
