Brampton – In a major boost to health-care expansion in Brampton, four leading Ontario developers have collectively committed $10 million to support the transformation of Peel Memorial into the city’s much-needed second hospital.
The significant contribution comes from ARGO Development Corp., Fieldgate Homes, Paradise Developments, and TACC Developments, all of whom have longstanding histories of shaping communities across the region. The donation was announced by the William Osler Health System Foundation.
In a joint statement, the developers emphasized their shared responsibility in strengthening the communities they help build.
“As family-founded companies, we’ve spent generations shaping communities — not just through the homes we build, but by investing in what helps neighbourhoods thrive. Health care is at the heart of that. Supporting the new Peel Memorial reflects our shared commitment to building a stronger, healthier Brampton for generations to come.”
According to the Osler Foundation, community philanthropy plays an essential role in advancing high-quality health care. Under Ontario’s hospital funding model, local communities must cover 100% of the cost of hospital equipment and 10% of construction expenses, making donations such as this one vital for progress.
The plan to redevelop the Peel Memorial Centre for Integrated Health and Wellness into Brampton’s second full-service hospital includes a multi-storey patient tower, a 24/7 emergency department, and expanded clinical services designed to meet the growing needs of Canada’s fastest-growing large city.
