The Liquor Control Board of Ontario (LCBO) is gearing up for the busy holiday season and is hiring 220 temporary customer service representatives across the province to help Ontarians find their favourite wines, beers, and spirits.
According to the LCBO, the seasonal positions run from November 17 to December 31, offering an hourly wage of $20.36. The agency warns that roles are filling quickly, so applicants are encouraged to apply as soon as possible.
Ideal candidates are described as outgoing, customer-focused, and team-oriented, with strong communication and interpersonal skills. Successful applicants will work under the direction of store managers, assisting customers with purchases, processing transactions, and restocking shelves. They’ll also be asked to promote the LCBO’s Spirit of Sustainability campaign, maintain store cleanliness, and lift cases of alcohol weighing up to 40 pounds.
Weekend availability is essential — particularly Fridays from 5 p.m. until close, plus Saturday and Sunday shifts lasting four to eight hours. Additional weekday hours may be assigned depending on store needs, and schedules will be posted two weeks in advance.
Applicants must be at least 18 years old, eligible to work in Canada, and comfortable standing for extended periods. Bilingualism in English and French is considered an asset.
In addition to competitive pay, LCBO employees can access online learning opportunities, discounted event tickets, and exclusive product offers. The organization also emphasizes its commitment to diversity and inclusion, offering accommodations for applicants under the Ontario Human Rights Code and Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act.
How to Apply:
Seasonal positions are available throughout the Greater Toronto Area, southwestern Ontario, and northern regions including Dryden. Interested candidates can browse available listings and submit an application directly through the LCBO’s retail jobs portal on its official website.
With the festive rush approaching, these short-term roles offer a great opportunity for extra income — and a chance to be part of Ontario’s holiday cheer behind the LCBO counter.
