King’s Coronation Medals Shine Light on Brampton’s Community Builders

In a proud and memorable ceremony held at the constituency office of Charmaine Williams, MPP for Brampton Centre and Associate Minister of Women’s Social and Economic Opportunity, several distinguished Brampton residents were awarded the prestigious King’s Coronation Medal in recognition of their exceptional service and leadership in the community.

The event holds special significance as the awards are being conferred during the historic visit of His Majesty King Charles III to Canada, where he is scheduled to address the upcoming session of Parliament. This adds a momentous backdrop to the occasion, further elevating the importance of the recipients’ contributions to the nation.

Among those honoured was Gian Paul, Chairperson of the Flower City Friends Club (FCFC) and President of the Mukti Foundation, celebrated for his lifelong dedication to seniors’ wellbeing, cultural unity, and grassroots advocacy. Upon receiving the medal, Mr. Paul remarked,
“This honour is not just a personal milestone—it reflects the collective efforts of so many remarkable individuals and organizations I’ve had the privilege to work with. I am deeply humbled and will continue to serve with purpose, compassion, and integrity.”

Also receiving the King’s Coronation Medal for their outstanding service to the community were:

  • Natasha Ferguson
  • Joyce Temple-Smith

Natasha Ferguson, known for her dedication to youth, equity, and community advancement, shared:
“This medal is a tribute to faith, family, and community—I’m humbled and grateful to serve with purpose and love.”

Charmaine Williams, who hosted and presented the medals, praised the recipients as shining examples of leadership and unity. “These medals are more than symbols—they represent a Canada where community spirit, inclusion, and service are the cornerstones of our shared future,” she stated.

The King’s Coronation Medal celebrates Canadians who have made a significant contribution to the country, echoing the values of service and civic responsibility upheld by the Crown.
