Justin Trudeau and Katy Perry Spark Buzz with Montreal Dinner Outing

Montreal diners were in for a surprise Monday night when former Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau was spotted sharing a cozy dinner with international pop sensation Katy Perry at Le Violon, one of the city’s top upscale restaurants.

According to a video obtained by TMZ, the two were seen seated at a dimly lit corner table, engaged in animated conversation. The footage, captured discreetly through a mirror above the bar, shows Perry leaning in as Trudeau gestures expressively during what appeared to be a lively exchange.

Restaurant patrons told TMZ the pair sipped cocktails and shared several dishes, including a lobster entrée.

Trudeau, 53, stepped down from office on January 6, 2025, after nearly a decade as prime minister. He and Sophie Grégoire Trudeau announced their separation in August 2023 after 18 years of marriage. The former couple has three children.

Perry, 40, is currently in Canada for her “Lifetimes” concert tour, with shows lined up in Ottawa, Montreal, Quebec City, and two dates in Toronto on August 5 and 6. She recently shared her excitement for the Canadian leg of her tour in an Instagram post.

Trudeau had recently posted photos of a trip to Switzerland with his son, further stirring interest in his personal life. Monday’s dinner with Perry has ignited speculation across social media, though neither party has made a public comment.

Whether it’s just friendship, a fan meet-up, or something more, the unlikely pairing of a former world leader and a global music star has certainly caught the public’s imagination.
