Jurassic Park Reopens as Toronto Raptors Begin Playoff Run

Toronto Raptors fans will once again gather at the famous Jurassic Park tailgate as playoff basketball returns to Toronto.

Scotiabank Arena has announced that its outdoor fan zone, located in Maple Leaf Square, will reopen for both home and away playoff games, beginning with Saturday’s Game 1 matchup against the Cleveland Cavaliers.

The plaza, known nationwide as Jurassic Park during the Raptors’ postseason runs, will open two hours before each game and remain open until halftime. Fans will be able to watch the action live on giant screens while enjoying the electric playoff atmosphere that made the space iconic during Toronto’s championship era.

Entry will require a free pass available through a draw on the team’s official app.

Organizers say the tailgate will also feature live entertainment, stage performances, appearances by celebrities and team personalities, along with contests and giveaways.

To accommodate the crowds, Maple Leaf Square will be closed to vehicle traffic throughout the playoffs, while nearby Bremner Boulevard may also close on selected game days.

Jurassic Park became one of Canada’s most recognizable sports gathering spots during the Raptors’ memorable 2019 title run, and its return is expected to bring another wave of excitement to downtown Toronto as the playoffs begin.
