Iran Warns U.S. of “Irreparable Damage” as Israeli Strikes Intensify and Trump Demands Surrender

Tensions in the Middle East have reached a dangerous boiling point as Iran issued a stark warning to the United States, threatening “irreparable damage” should it join Israel’s ongoing military campaign. The warning, delivered by Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei in a statement read on state TV, comes as Israeli airstrikes continue to hammer Iranian military and nuclear targets — including facilities for uranium centrifuges — around Tehran.

While Iran launched additional retaliatory missile barrages against Israel overnight, Israeli officials claim to have intercepted several of them, with no casualties reported from the latest wave.

Iranian Foreign Ministry officials doubled down, stating that any U.S. military involvement would be a “recipe for an all-out war.” Despite this, American military presence in the region has expanded, with additional warplanes and assets deployed to deter further escalation.

President Donald Trump, initially hesitant, has signaled increased U.S. readiness, demanding on Tuesday an “UNCONDITIONAL SURRENDER” from Iran via social media. He also warned Iran’s top leader that the U.S. knows “where he is hiding” — but clarified there are no plans to target him “at least not for now.”

In retaliation for Israeli strikes that have reportedly killed over 500 people, including civilians and top nuclear scientists, Iran has fired more than 400 missiles and drones into Israel. Damage in central Israel has prompted repeated shelter warnings. However, Iran’s missile attacks have waned in recent days, possibly due to Israel targeting launch sites and missile infrastructure.

Tehran’s streets are now under stress — shops shuttered, gas lines growing, and residents fleeing the capital in anticipation of more strikes. Early Wednesday, a massive explosion echoed through eastern Tehran, with no official confirmation from Iranian authorities. One strike reportedly targeted a Revolutionary Guard academy in Hakimiyeh.

Iran maintains that its uranium enrichment program is for peaceful purposes, with enrichment levels now approaching 60% — just shy of weapons-grade. Iranian officials insist strikes have not deterred their nuclear R&D efforts, saying, “Our scientists will continue their work.”

Meanwhile, Israelis stranded abroad due to the conflict have started returning on repatriation flights from Cyprus as Tel Aviv’s Ben Gurion Airport reopened under tight military security.

The United Nations and global powers are urging restraint, though diplomatic channels appear stalled. Talks between the U.S. and Iran that were ongoing before the conflict now seem unlikely to proceed.

As both sides refuse to back down, and rhetoric escalates daily, the region — and the world — holds its breath.
