International Golf Stars Confirmed for 2025 RBC Canadian Open at TPC Toronto

Ludvig Åberg, Sungjae Im, Tom Kim, Alex Noren lead global talent as Canada’s premier golf championship builds momentum

OAKVILLE, ON — The field for the 2025 RBC Canadian Open just got a major international boost. Golf Canada and RBC have confirmed that four of the world’s most recognized global golf stars—Ludvig Åberg, Sungjae Im, Tom Kim, and Alex Noren—are set to tee it up at TPC Toronto at Osprey Valley for the 114th edition of Canada’s Men’s National Open Championship.

World No. 6 Ludvig Åberg, who made his PGA TOUR debut at the 2023 RBC Canadian Open, returns as one of the hottest young stars in the sport. With two PGA TOUR wins—most recently at the 2025 Genesis Invitational—and a Ryder Cup victory and Olympic appearance under his belt, the Swedish standout brings both firepower and flair to this year’s tournament.

Sungjae Im (World No. 21), a consistent contender on the PGA TOUR, comes in with a T5 finish at The Masters and a solid track record of top-25 performances this season. A Presidents Cup veteran and Olympian for the Republic of Korea, Im will make his second Canadian Open appearance following his impressive 7th-place finish in 2019.

Rising Korean sensation Tom Kim (World No. 45) is set to electrify the crowd once again after his T4 finish in Hamilton last year. The 22-year-old already has three PGA TOUR titles and a stellar international resume, including appearances in the Presidents Cup and Olympics.

Veteran Swede Alex Noren (World No. 71) returns for his third RBC Canadian Open, fresh off a headline-grabbing final pairing at the 2025 PGA Championship. A 10-time winner on the DP World Tour and a Ryder Cup champion, Noren’s comeback from injury has made him one to watch.

Joining the international stars are two of the world’s brightest amateur talents: Luke Clanton and Gordon Sargent.

Clanton, the No. 1-ranked amateur golfer in the world and the 2025 Ben Hogan Award winner, has already made waves with two PGA TOUR runner-up finishes. A junior at Florida State and recipient of the 2024 McCormack Medal, Clanton is expected to make a major splash in his Canadian Open debut.

Vanderbilt’s Gordon Sargent, ranked No. 20 in the WAGR, is the 2022 NCAA Individual Champion and a former McCormack Medalist. He was the low amateur at the 2023 U.S. Open and earned his PGA TOUR card through the University Accelerated program—becoming the first ever to do so.

“RBC and Golf Canada are thrilled to welcome Ludvig Åberg, Sungjae Im, Tom Kim, and Alex Noren to the 2025 RBC Canadian Open,” said Tournament Director Ryan Paul. “We’re equally excited to host rising stars Luke Clanton and Gordon Sargent—two players poised to shape the future of golf.”
