Global Golfers, Local Impact: ICGA Donates $100K to Trillium

Milton, Ontario – July 22, 2025 – The Indo Canadian Golf Association (ICGA) marked a quarter-century of impact with its 25th Anniversary Golf Tournament, hosted at the prestigious Glencairn Golf Club, a ClubLink facility. Under clear blue skies, the event brought together 228 golfers from around the world, transforming the greens into an international convergence of sport and camaraderie.

With an overwhelming 337 total registrations, the tournament’s popularity underscored the ICGA’s growing global reach. ICGA President Avtar Brar acknowledged the unprecedented demand, stating, “It’s heartening to see such global enthusiasm. Our tournament has evolved into more than just a sporting event—it’s now a celebration of culture, community, and charitable giving.” Brar extended his gratitude to all participants, volunteers, and sponsors for their unwavering support.

Legacy of Community and Giving

Established in 1997, the ICGA was founded to promote golf within the South Asian community while concurrently raising funds for charitable causes. Over 25 years, the association has become a pillar of community service, fostering friendships, nurturing youth in sports, and championing healthcare and education initiatives. The ICGA is recognized not only for its premier tournaments but also for its significant societal contributions.

Global Partnerships and Culinary Delights

The success of the 25th Anniversary Tournament was made possible by the generous support of numerous sponsors and community partners. Turkish Airlines joined as the Partner Sponsor, with ClubLink and IFS as Presenting Sponsors. Major sponsors included Brampton Brick, Paul’s Transport, Di-Mond Trailers, Lazeez Shawarma, Parvesa Inc., Sachin Ghai, and Onkar Travel and Moon Palace Cancun, Mexico.

The day commenced with an energetic welcome from Amin Gill, the official Master of Ceremonies, who set a celebratory tone. Golfers were treated to a diverse culinary spread, featuring Indian, South Indian, and “Chatkara” food stations, including paani puri and chaat papri, expertly catered by Punjabi By Nature and Rajiv Punj. The event truly embodied a “Mela” — a community celebration filled with food, culture, and fellowship alongside top-tier golfing competition.

A highlight that captivated attendees was the Hole-in-One Challenge, offering a chance to win a $1.4 million Lamborghini. While no one drove away in the luxury car, the challenge added an electrifying buzz across the course.
