Brampton, July 20: Hockey Hall of Famers and Stanley Cup champions Paul Coffey and Mike Modano have officially joined the lineup for Hockey Night in Brampton 2026, adding even more excitement to Canada’s largest charity hockey game in support of Brampton’s second hospital.
The annual fundraising event will take place on Wednesday, August 19, 2026, at the CAA Centre in Brampton. Doors will open at 6:00 p.m., with the ceremonial puck drop scheduled for 7:00 p.m.
The addition of Coffey and Modano strengthens an already impressive roster featuring NHL alumni Joe Kocur, Kirk Muller, Ryan Getzlaf and Cody Hodgson, current NHL stars Dylan Strome and Owen Power, along with legendary coaches Doug Gilmour, Wendel Clark and Gary Roberts.
Widely regarded as one of the greatest defencemen in NHL history, Paul Coffey captured four Stanley Cup championships, won the James Norris Memorial Trophy three times and amassed an incredible 1,531 career points over 21 NHL seasons. He ranks second all-time among NHL defencemen in career scoring and was inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame in 2004.
Mike Modano, one of the greatest American-born players in NHL history, enjoyed a distinguished 21-year NHL career, highlighted by leading the Dallas Stars to their first Stanley Cup championship in 1999. He recorded 561 goals and 1,374 points in 1,499 NHL games before being inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame in 2014.
Welcoming the two hockey icons, Brampton Mayor Patrick Brown said their participation further elevates the event.
“Paul Coffey and Mike Modano are two of the most accomplished and recognizable players in hockey history, and we are thrilled to welcome them to Hockey Night in Brampton. Their addition builds on an already outstanding lineup and gives fans another reason to join us at the CAA Centre. Together, our players, coaches and sponsors are helping us build another unforgettable evening in support of Brampton’s second hospital,” Mayor Brown said.
Tickets for the event are now available through Ticketmaster at $36 each.
The City of Brampton also announced that 407 ETR will return as the Presenting Meet and Greet Sponsor, providing fans with an opportunity to meet hockey legends during the event.
Additional major sponsors include Argo Development Corp., Capital Power, Charger Logistics, DG Group, Paradise Developments, Amazon, Orlando Corporation and Pattison Outdoor, all of whom are supporting the fundraising initiative.
Since its launch in 2019, Hockey Night in Brampton has become Canada’s premier charity hockey event, bringing together NHL legends, current players, corporate partners and community leaders to raise funds for the William Osler Health System Foundation.
Over the past two years alone, the event has raised nearly $21 million while also helping secure a historic $50 million pledge toward the transformation of Peel Memorial Centre into Brampton’s second full-service hospital.
With the addition of Paul Coffey and Mike Modano, organizers expect another memorable evening that will unite hockey fans and the community in support of improved healthcare for the rapidly growing City of Brampton.
