Health Canada has issued a recall for thousands of ESR HaloLock wireless power banks due to a potential fire hazard. The affected models — 2G520, 2G505B, and 2G512B — contain lithium-ion batteries that can overheat, posing a serious risk of ignition.
Consumers are urged to immediately stop using the recalled products and contact manufacturer Waymeet Limited for a full refund. The devices should be disposed of following local municipal guidelines for safe lithium-ion battery disposal.
Between September 2023 and July 2025, 9,743 of the recalled units were sold in Canada and 24,242 in the United States through Amazon and The Home Depot’s online stores. While no injuries have been reported, there have been five incidents of fire-related property damage in Canada and nine in the U.S. linked to the products.
Health Canada warns it is illegal to sell, distribute, or give away recalled items. Consumers seeking refunds or further information can contact Waymeet Limited at 1-888-990-0280 or support@esrtech.com.
