Health Canada Issues Recall for Lemon Delight and Tartlet with Forest Fruits

Health Canada has issued a nationwide recall for two popular desserts manufactured and distributed in Ontario after tests revealed potential salmonella contamination. The affected products, Lemon Delight and Tartlet with Forest Fruits, are sold under the brand D. Effe T. and are widely available across the country.

Consumers in possession of these products are advised not to consume, sell, serve, or distribute them. The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) is actively investigating the issue, and additional recalls may follow as the probe continues.Lemon Delight:

Salmonella is a type of bacteria that can cause serious and sometimes fatal infections, particularly in young children, the elderly, and individuals with weakened immune systems. Symptoms of salmonella poisoning include fever, diarrhea, nausea, vomiting, and abdominal cramps. Anyone who believes they may have become ill after consuming these products should contact their healthcare provider immediately.

So far, one illness has been reported that is suspected to be linked to the consumption of these desserts. Health Canada and the CFIA are working to determine the source of the contamination and prevent further cases.
