Guelph Man Loses $10,000 After Wallet Stolen at Local Golf Course

Guelph-Eramosa — A Guelph man is out $10,000 after his wallet was stolen from a golf bag at a local course earlier this month.

According to the Wellington County OPP, the theft occurred on October 14, 2025, while the victim was golfing in Guelph-Eramosa Township. Surveillance footage captured an unidentified man removing the wallet from a golf bag and leaving the scene in a grey or silver SUV.

Shortly after the theft, the victim discovered three unauthorized transactions had been made on his credit card in a foreign country, totaling approximately $10,000.

The suspect is described as a middle-aged Caucasian man of average build with facial hair, wearing a black hat, white shirt with a blue vest, black pants, and white shoes. Police noted he did not have golf clubs with him.

The OPP is appealing to the public for help identifying the suspect or vehicle.
