Several Greater Toronto Area residents say they feel cheated after paying in advance for snow removal services that stopped shortly after the first snowfall.
CTV News reports receiving multiple complaints about a company operating as Snow Pros, which advertised discounted rates last fall for customers who prepaid for the 2025–26 winter season. Customers say the company cleared snow once in December and then failed to return, despite subsequent snowfalls.
Toronto resident Eve, who asked to be identified by her first name only, said she paid $1,200 to ensure her elderly mother wouldn’t have to shovel snow while she was away for work. “At this point I feel they have taken the money and they are not a legitimate business,” she said.
Oakville residents Pankaj Mehra and Ritu Mehra said they paid $610 for the season and also received just one service visit. They said health issues prevent them from clearing snow themselves. “We feel cheated,” Ritu Mehra said.
Snow Pros holds an “F” rating with the Better Business Bureau. CTV News attempted to contact the company by phone and email but received no response.
A separate business, Snow Pros Plowing Services, told CTV News it is not affiliated with the company facing complaints and said it has been fielding calls from frustrated customers due to the similar name.
Customers say they are seeking refunds and warn others to carefully review contracts, noting clauses that allow automatic renewal for future seasons.
