The Gardiner Expressway will be completely closed this weekend, from 11 p.m. on Friday to 10 a.m. on Sunday, for essential maintenance and repairs, according to the City of Toronto.
This 35-hour closure is part of ongoing rehabilitation efforts on the aging highway, aimed at minimizing future overnight disruptions and cutting costs. City officials suggest using public transit, with options like the GO Train for west-end residents, or alternative routes such as Lake Shore Boulevard, The Queensway, or Bloor Street.
Maintenance work will include fixing cracks and potholes, replacing guardrails, clearing debris, and cleaning graffiti. For more details, visit the City of Toronto website.
