Game On, All Year Long: Brampton Breaks Ground on $19M Indoor Sports Dome

Brampton has officially begun construction on a state-of-the-art sports dome at the Cassie Campbell Community Centre, slated to open in 2026. This new facility represents a major $19-million investment in promoting active living, youth engagement, and inclusive recreation across the city.

The Cassie Campbell Field Hockey Multisport Training Dome will be an air-supported structure designed to offer year-round access to high-quality sporting amenities. It will feature a full-size field hockey pitch, a straight running track with long and triple jump sand pits, and batting cages for cricket and baseball. The facility will also include a comfort station equipped with change rooms and washrooms.

“With a strong community of passionate field hockey enthusiasts in Brampton, we are proud to support the growth of this sport locally,” said Mayor Patrick Brown. “We remain focused on winterizing amenities in every corner of our city so that all residents can enjoy the benefits of recreation, no matter the season.”

The dome will further enhance the legacy of the Cassie Campbell Community Centre, named in honour of Brampton-born Olympian Cassie Campbell-Pascall. Since opening in 2008, the centre has served as a vibrant hub for athletes and families in the community.
