The private event is being held at the historic Fairmont Royal York and is not open to media coverage. Canada 2020 says the event is focused on advancing ideas for a “more just, inclusive and forward-thinking Canada.”
This marks Obama’s second visit to Toronto and continues his long-standing connection with Canada. During his presidency, Obama made several official visits to the country, including meetings with former Prime Minister Stephen Harper, participation in G8 and G20 summits, and the North American Leaders’ Summit.
Obama remains one of the world’s most recognized political figures and continues to speak globally on leadership, democracy, climate change and civic engagement after leaving office.
