Experience the Magic of Winter in Brampton: Festivals, Skating, Shows, and Family Fun All Season Long

BRAMPTON— The City of Brampton is welcoming the winter season with a full lineup of festive events, outdoor activities, and family-friendly programs designed to bring the community together. From dazzling lights and lively parades to skating, concerts, and charitable drives, Winter in the City 2025 promises to make this season one to remember.

Mayor Patrick Brown celebrated the city’s winter offerings, saying, “By working with dedicated partners and our vibrant community, Brampton continues to deliver winter experiences everyone can enjoy. Winter in Brampton and the Winter Lights Festival create opportunities for families, visitors, and businesses to experience our city in exciting new ways while staying active, connected, and proud of what makes Brampton special.”

Winter Lights Festival
The season begins with the Winter Lights Festival presented by Fieldgate Developments, transforming Brampton into a wonderland of light and celebration.

  • Brampton Santa Claus Parade
    Saturday, November 15 | 5 p.m.
    The Rotary Club of Brampton’s iconic parade begins at Central Park Drive and Bramalea Road, bringing holiday joy with illuminated floats and community spirit.

  • Brampton Winter Artist Market
    Saturday, November 22 | 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
    Springdale Library, 10705 Bramalea Rd.
    Presented by the Brampton Arts Organization, this festive market offers handmade gifts, crafts, and local treats — the perfect stop for holiday shopping.
  • Christmas Tree Lighting & Miracle on Main Street
    Saturday, November 29 | 4 p.m. to 8 p.m.
    Downtown Brampton & Ken Whillans Square
    Families can enjoy free photos with Santa, live entertainment, and the city’s official tree lighting ceremony at 6:45 p.m. The 60-foot spruce tree will glow with more than 10,000 twinkling lights. Visitors are encouraged to bring new, unwrapped toys for Miracle on Main Street, supporting local families through the Tiger Jeet Singh Foundation.

Free parking will be available in downtown garages after 7 p.m. on weekdays, and all day on weekends and holidays.

Outdoor & Indoor Skating
Winter fun continues on Brampton’s outdoor rinks, starting with the Gore Meadows Covered Outdoor Skating Rink, opening November 15, weather permitting. Additional rinks will open as temperatures drop — residents can check rink updates anytime at brampton.ca/outdoorskating.

From December 21 to January 4, residents can enjoy Free Winter Break Indoor Skating presented by Capital Power. With sessions at select arenas, this initiative ensures everyone can lace up and enjoy skating at no cost. Full schedules are available at brampton.ca/freeskates.

Brampton Food and Toy Drive
The city’s annual Food and Toy Drive returns December 1–15, inviting residents to donate non-perishable food, new toys, or gift cards at City Hall, community centres, and libraries. Donations will go to Knights Table to support local families in need. Last year, Brampton residents contributed more than 5,000 pounds of donations, reflecting the city’s strong community spirit.

Winter Walks and Trails
For those who prefer fresh air and natural beauty, Brampton’s parks and recreational trails remain open year-round. Winter walks are a great way to enjoy the season and stay active. Visit brampton.ca/parks to explore trails across the city.

Brampton Library’s Holiday Programs
Brampton Library kicks off the holidays with “12 Days of Creativity” and a return of the Winter Artist Market on November 22. From crafting ornaments and snow globes to family photo sessions with Santa on November 30, the library’s workshops run through December 3. Author Terry Fallis joins the festivities on December 6, and newcomers can enjoy guided Holiday Lights Bus Tours on December 4 and 9. More details at bramptonlibrary.ca.

The Rose Theatre comes alive this winter with an inspiring lineup, including:
