Elderly Sikh Man in Los Angeles Brutally Attacked with Golf Club, Critical

A 70-year-old Sikh man is fighting for his life after being viciously assaulted with a golf club near a gurdwara in North Hollywood, Los Angeles. The victim, identified as Harpal Singh, suffered multiple broken facial bones and bleeding in the brain. His family says he has already undergone three surgeries since the attack last Monday.

Singh was on his daily walk near the gurdwara when an unidentified assailant struck him repeatedly. A video taken moments afterward shows him sitting on the pavement in a pool of blood, the golf club used in the assault lying at his feet.

The Sikh community in Los Angeles has condemned the attack and is calling for increased police protection around gurdwaras and neighbourhoods with a significant Sikh population. Despite the severity of the assault, police have not made any arrests and say they are not currently investigating the incident as a hate crime.

Community members say the lack of arrests and hate crime charges is deeply concerning, especially given the brutality of the attack and its proximity to a place of worship. Calls are growing for authorities to take stronger action to ensure the safety of Sikh residents in the area.
