Ontario – As summer approaches and patio season heats up, OpenTable has released its Top 100 Restaurants for Outdoor Dining in Canada for 2025, with dozens of Ontario locations earning national recognition for their scenic, inviting, and pet-friendly outdoor spaces.
Compiled from over one million verified diner reviews, along with reservation demand and outdoor dining tags, the list celebrates establishments that deliver exceptional al fresco dining experiences. Ontario stood out prominently on the list, with acclaimed patios from Toronto, Mississauga, Burlington, Niagara-on-the-Lake, Waterloo, and beyond.
Among the notable GTA and surrounding area mentions are:
- Posta Ital Bar Cucina, Mississauga
- Taps Public House, Mississauga
- The Chase, Toronto
- El Catrin, Toronto
- Spencer’s at the Waterfront, Burlington
- The Winery Restaurant at Peller Estates, Niagara-on-the-Lake
Also featured were restaurants in smaller communities such as The Friendly Society in Elora and Greystones in Orangeville, proving that excellent patio dining isn’t limited to big cities.
In addition to ambiance and cuisine, pet-friendly patios are trending, with a 25% increase in demand from last year. OpenTable noted that 56% of dog owners dine out with their pets at least once a month during the summer.
“This data reflects not only a passion for outdoor dining, but a growing desire for inclusive, relaxed experiences where people can bring their pets and enjoy the warmer months,” said Matt Davis, Senior Country Director for OpenTable Canada.
Dining out this Father’s Day? The report also noted that Father’s Day patio dining rose 11% last year, making it a perfect time to celebrate dad at one of these scenic venues.
