Deer Creek in Ajax Sold for $45 Million to ClubLink, Ensuring Legacy Continues

One of Ontario’s premier golf and banquet destinations, Deer Creek Golf & Banquet Facility, has been sold to ClubLink Corporation ULC for $45 million, marking a new chapter in its legacy while ensuring the continuation of its esteemed golf, hospitality, and event services.

Established in 1989 by the late philanthropist and developer Jerry Coughlan, Deer Creek spans 445 acres and features:

  • 45 championship golf holes
  • A nine-hole short course
  • A state-of-the-art driving range and performance academy
  • A 57,000-square-foot clubhouse and banquet facility

Despite the ownership transition, Deer Creek’s operations—including daily fee golf, memberships, tournaments, weddings, banquets, and restaurant services—will continue as usual. The sale ensures that the club remains a pillar of the Ajax and Durham Region community.

Scott Collins, President and CEO of Deer Creek, emphasized the importance of maintaining the high standards set by the Coughlan family.

“The Deer Creek operations were built on the Coughlan Family principles of providing a great product and exceptional service,” Collins stated. “We believe ClubLink is uniquely positioned to continue the legacy envisioned by Jerry Coughlan and delivered by countless valued team members.”

ClubLink Corporation, Canada’s largest owner and operator of golf and country clubs, views this acquisition as an opportunity to enhance its existing portfolio while honoring Deer Creek’s heritage.

“We are grateful to the Coughlan family for the opportunity to carry forward the legacy of Deer Creek,” said Rai Sahi, ClubLink’s Chair and CEO. “Acquiring Deer Creek adds value to the ClubLink experience and demonstrates our commitment to providing great golf and hospitality for our members and guests.”

The acquisition underscores ClubLink’s strategy to expand its high-quality golf and hospitality offerings, reinforcing its dedication to maintaining Deer Creek as a premier golf destination while continuing to serve members, corporate tournaments, and the broader community.

With a rich history and deep roots in the Ajax community, Deer Creek remains poised to thrive under new ownership, ensuring its legacy of excellence carries forward for years to come.
