Deadly Drive-By in Chicago Leaves 4 Dead, 14 Injured Outside Album Party

CHICAGO — A late-night drive-by shooting in Chicago’s River North neighborhood has left four people dead and 14 others wounded, in one of the city’s deadliest incidents this year, authorities confirmed Thursday morning.

The attack unfolded just before midnight on Wednesday outside a restaurant and lounge that was reportedly hosting an album release party for a rapper. Police say a vehicle pulled up and opened fire on a crowd gathered outside before fleeing the scene.

The victims include 13 women and five men, ranging in age from 21 to 32. Two men and two women died from their injuries. At least three of the wounded remain in critical condition at area hospitals.

Nine victims — including the two deceased women — were taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital. Five others, including the two deceased men, were transported to John H. Stroger Hospital. Additional victims were taken to nearby medical centers.

No suspects have been arrested, and police have not yet released information about the vehicle or possible motives. Detectives are currently reviewing surveillance footage and appealing to witnesses for information.

The incident marks a chilling escalation of gun violence in a city already grappling with ongoing safety concerns. Officials are urging anyone with information to come forward.
