The Flower City Friends Club Neighborhood Association celebrated a memorable Street BBQ Party with over 200 members from the Lakeland Village Park neighborhood participating in this vibrant community event. The City of Brampton generously supported and funded the BBQ party, reinforcing its commitment to fostering community spirit. Mayor Patrick Brown, the chief guest, inaugurated the event and emphasized the importance of such gatherings in promoting brotherhood, oneness, and belongingness.
Mayor Patrick Brown stated, “Events like these are crucial for building stronger communities. They bring us closer together, creating a sense of unity and shared purpose. It’s wonderful to see so many residents coming together to celebrate and enjoy each other’s company.”

Major Jagmohan Kabuli, one of the event’s organizers, took charge of cooking for the guests. He remarked, “Cooking for my neighbors and friends is a joy. It’s heartwarming to see everyone enjoying the food and the camaraderie.”

Kamal Babar, renowned for her exceptional hospitality, was a highlight of the event. She shared, “Hospitality is about making people feel welcome and valued. I’m delighted to be part of this wonderful community gathering.”
Regional Councillor Rowena Santos, along with her team of dedicated volunteers, played a significant role in ensuring the event’s success. Ruby Sahota, MP for Brampton North, graced the occasion and actively participated in the fun games organized by the women’s wing of the Flower City Friends Club. She expressed, “It’s fantastic to see such enthusiastic participation from everyone. These events strengthen our community bonds and create lasting memories.”

The event also received support from Turkish Airlines. Tariq Anwar, representing Turkish Airlines, said, “We are proud to support this community event. It’s wonderful to see the joy and togetherness it brings to everyone involved.”
Councillor Paul Vicente, a staunch supporter of the Flower City Friends Club, praised the club’s efforts. He noted, “The Flower City Friends Club consistently organizes events that bring our community together. Their dedication to fostering community spirit is commendable.”
Gian Paul, Chairperson of the Flower City Friends Club Neighborhood Association, extended his gratitude to the City of Brampton and all community members. The event also featured a lively Gidha dance performed by the ladies, adding a touch of cultural richness. The kids had a fantastic time with various fun activities and games.
