Community Comes Together in Prayer and Gratitude at Thanksgiving Path Hosted by MP Amandeep Sodhi

Nanaksar Gurdwara on Kennedy Road was filled with spiritual warmth and unity this past weekend as Member of Parliament Amandeep Sodhi (Brampton Centre) hosted a heartfelt Thanksgiving Path (Shukrana Ardas). The event brought together community members, local leaders, and elected officials in a collective moment of reflection, prayer, and gratitude.

The gathering served as a beautiful example of inclusive leadership and cultural respect, with MP Sodhi expressing his deep appreciation to the people of Brampton Centre for their support and trust. The Shukrana Ardas, a traditional Sikh prayer of thanks, was performed in the spirit of humility and service, invoking blessings for peace, prosperity, and communal harmony.

“This Shukrana Ardas was not just a religious gathering—it was a moment to thank the community, honour our roots, and renew our commitment to service,” said MP Amandeep Sodhi. “I am truly humbled by the support and love I have received from the people of Brampton Centre. Together, we are building a more compassionate, inclusive, and connected community.”

Among the distinguished guests in attendance were fellow Members of Parliament Ruby Sahota (Brampton North), Sonia Sidhu (Brampton South), and Maninder Sidhu (Brampton East)—each of whom expressed their appreciation for the meaningful initiative and praised the sense of unity it fostered within the community. Their presence underscored the spirit of collaboration among Brampton’s federal representatives and the shared commitment to strengthening multiculturalism and interfaith dialogue.

“It was a truly beautiful and grounding experience,” said Ruby Sahota, MP for Brampton North. “This gathering reminded us of the power of prayer and community. I commend MP Amandeep Sodhi for bringing people together in such a heartfelt way.”

“Moments like this show the strength of our Brampton spirit,” added Maninder Sidhu, MP for Brampton East. “We come from different backgrounds, but events like this remind us that we are united in our values—faith, gratitude, and community service.”

Also in attendance was Hardam Mangat, Vice President of the Liberal Party of Canada, whose participation highlighted the importance of community engagement and the role of faith in promoting social cohesion and civic responsibility.

Attendees were deeply moved by the serene kirtan (devotional music), the soul-touching ardas (prayer), and the langar (community meal) that followed—a symbol of equality and shared humanity in Sikh tradition. The event not only offered spiritual solace but also an opportunity for residents to connect, share stories, and reaffirm their commitment to a vibrant and united Brampton.

“Bringing people together in prayer strengthens not just faith but our sense of collective responsibility,” MP Sodhi added in closing. “This is the Brampton we believe in—diverse, respectful, and rooted in shared values.”

This thanksgiving ceremony reflects MP Sodhi’s ongoing dedication to inclusive representation, community empowerment, and faith-based outreach. As Brampton continues to grow and diversify, events like these play a crucial role in fostering mutual understanding and collective wellbeing.
