City of Brampton Celebrates Small Business Month with Free Support for Entrepreneurs

The City of Brampton is proud to recognize and support Small Business Month, highlighting the vital role entrepreneurs play in strengthening the local economy. With 90% of all Brampton businesses classified as small businesses, the City remains committed to equipping these enterprises with the resources they need to succeed.

Throughout October, the Brampton Entrepreneur Centre (BEC), a part of the City’s Economic Development Office (EDO), will offer free programming and expanded hours to help small businesses thrive. Entrepreneurs at various stages of growth can take advantage of business seminars, online courses, and mentorship programs, among other resources.

Key Small Business Month events include:

  • How to Start a Small Business: A step-by-step guide for new entrepreneurs to turn ideas into reality.
  • Entrepreneurs Connect: A weekly networking event every Thursday in October where business owners can share experiences and challenges.
  • Brampton Ignite (October 16): A dynamic event to inspire new business ideas and foster collaboration.
  • Holiday Magic – Visual Merchandising Workshop (October 21): A hands-on workshop for small retailers to create eye-catching holiday displays.

Starting October 1, BEC will extend its hours, opening Monday to Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., giving entrepreneurs more opportunities to access essential resources like co-working spaces, mentorship, and business guidance. This initiative reflects the City’s ongoing dedication to fostering a supportive environment for small businesses to succeed.
