The City of Brampton is inviting residents to become part of the democratic process by applying for more than 1,500 election worker positions for the 2026 Municipal Election.
The recruitment campaign officially launched on June 9, providing local residents with an opportunity to gain valuable work experience, develop new skills, earn compensation, and contribute to the successful delivery of a fair, accessible, and efficient municipal election.
A variety of positions are available, including Deputy Returning Officers, Greeters, Location Supervisors, Assistant Location Supervisors, Accessible Unit Attendants, and Tabulator Attendants. Successful applicants will play a key role in assisting voters and ensuring voting locations operate smoothly throughout the election period.
In addition to Election Day opportunities, positions are also available for advance voting, which is scheduled to take place on October 9, 10, 11, 16, and 17, 2026. All selected workers will receive training before being assigned their duties.
Residents interested in joining the election team can submit applications online beginning June 9. Hard-copy applications are also available through the City Clerk’s Office at Brampton City Hall. Candidates selected for the positions will be notified later this summer.
To help answer questions and assist with applications, City staff will be present at several community events, including Brampton Celebrates Pride, Canada Day celebrations, and select Brampton Farmers’ Market dates. Residents will have the opportunity to learn more about the available positions and apply on the spot.

She noted that election workers play an important role in helping residents cast their ballots and ensuring voting locations remain welcoming and accessible for everyone.
