Charmaine Williams has been acclaimed as the PC candidate for Member of Provincial Parliament (MPP) in Brampton Centre for the upcoming provincial election.
Surrounded by her dedicated team and supporters, Williams expressed her gratitude and commitment to the community. “I’m incredibly honoured to be acclaimed as the Ontario PC candidate for MPP in Brampton Centre,” she stated. “Today, surrounded by my amazing team and supporters, I felt the energy, love, and commitment that makes this community so special. Together, we’ve accomplished so much, and I’m ready to keep working hard to deliver results for families, businesses, and individuals in Brampton Centre.”

Williams made history in 2018 as the first Black woman elected to Brampton City Council, representing Wards 7 and 8. In 2022, she continued to break barriers by becoming the first Black person appointed to cabinet in an Ontario PC government, serving as the Associate Minister of Women’s Social and Economic Opportunity.
Reflecting on her journey, Williams said, “This journey wouldn’t be possible without the dedication of #TeamCharmaine and the trust of the people of Brampton Centre. Thank you for believing in me—I’m ready to keep moving forward, together!”
As MPP, Williams has focused on making streets safer, ensuring families have access to essential social and recreational services, and advocating for an integrated transportation plan in the region.
Looking ahead, she emphasized her vision for the community: “Let’s keep building a stronger, safer, and more prosperous Brampton Centre!”
The Ontario PC Party congratulates Charmaine Williams on her acclamation and is confident in her continued dedication to the residents of Brampton Centre.
