Canada’s Top Fugitive, Blood Family Mafia Boss, Nabbed in Italy

Dave “Pic” Turmel, the elusive kingpin of the Blood Family Mafia (BFM), is finally in handcuffs—caught in Italy after a global manhunt, Noovo Info sources confirm. TVA Nouvelles broke the story Thursday, ending Turmel’s reign as Canada’s most wanted criminal.

The 28-year-old allegedly steered the BFM from Portugal, dodging Quebec City police (SPVQ) while waging a savage 18-month turf war with the Hells Angels. Refusing to pay the Angels’ drug “tax” or buy their supply, Turmel’s crew sourced from Montreal gangs instead—sparking a brutal feud. The BFM’s calling card? Kidnapping and torturing Angels members, flaunting the carnage online.

Wanted since 2023 for drug trafficking, conspiracy, and armed assault, Turmel topped the Bolo Program’s Most Wanted list in December, with a $250,000 bounty on his head. “He’d stop at nothing to dominate eastern Quebec’s drug trade,” SPVQ Director Denis Turcotte warned then.

Two of Turmel’s lieutenants fell last year—Roobens Denis, 32, nabbed in Portugal in March, and Guillaume St-Louis Bernier, 28, collared in Kelowna, B.C., in June. Now, the head of the snake is cut. Italy’s arrest slams the brakes on Turmel’s bloody run—but questions linger about the BFM’s next move.
