Brampton Traffic Stop Results in Nearly 300 Charges for Three Men, Seizure of Drugs and Stolen ID Documents

Three Brampton men are facing almost 300 charges after a traffic stop led to the seizure of drugs, numerous credit cards, and identity documents, according to the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP).

Officers from the OPP Mississauga detachment conducted a traffic stop on Peel Centre Drive in Brampton at approximately 9:30 p.m. on May 29. During the investigation, officers seized suspected heroin and methamphetamine, along with 61 credit cards and 22 identity documents.

The accused, two 25-year-old men and one 24-year-old man, are each charged with 61 counts of possession of a credit card, 22 counts of possession of an identity document, 12 counts of possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000, and two counts of possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking. Additionally, one of the 25-year-old men is charged with failing to comply with a release order.

All three individuals are scheduled to appear in Brampton court on July 11.

The OPP has stated they are “committed” to returning the allegedly stolen identity documents and bank cards to their rightful owners. Anyone who believes their driver’s license, health card, credit card, or bank card was stolen in Peel Region is urged to contact the Mississauga OPP at 905-858-8670.
