Canada’s women’s rugby sevens team secured a silver medal at the Paris Olympics after a 19-12 loss to New Zealand.
Charity Williams, a veteran from the bronze-winning team in Rio 2016, led the Canadians with five tries throughout the tournament.
Canada triumphed over France and Australia to reach the final but was ultimately defeated by the top-ranked New Zealand team.
Head coach Jack Hanratty praised the team’s perseverance, noting their rebuilding efforts after a ninth-place finish in Tokyo.
Despite key injuries, the team showed resilience and dedication, looking forward to future Olympic success.
