Ontario Provincial Police are asking for the public’s assistance in locating 55-year-old Darren Wheatley, a convicted sex offender who is currently wanted on a Canada-wide warrant for breaching the conditions of his long-term supervision order.
Wheatley previously served more than 10 years in prison after being convicted of two counts of sexual assault, two counts of sexual assault causing bodily harm, and choking. Following his release, he was placed on a long-term supervision order. Investigators from the OPP’s Repeat Offender Parole Enforcement (ROPE) Squad have confirmed that he is now in violation of that order.
Wheatley is known to frequent the Parry Sound area as well as downtown Toronto. He also has previous connections to British Columbia and may be travelling between provinces.
