NIAGARA REGION — Police have issued a Canada-wide warrant for Manpreet Singh, a 27-year-old man from Brampton, in connection with the murder of a North York woman whose body was discovered in an Ontario park earlier this week.
The Niagara Regional Police Service (NRPS) confirmed that officers were called to Charles Daley Park in Lincoln, located about 40 kilometres east of Niagara Falls, around 11 a.m. after a woman’s body was found with traumatic injuries. The victim has been identified as 27-year-old Amanpreet Sani of North York.
Following an extensive investigation, NRPS detectives say they have obtained a Canada-wide warrant for second-degree murder against Singh, who is believed to have fled the country shortly after the killing. Police say the homicide appears to have been a targeted attack, and there is no ongoing threat to public safety.
Investigators have not released details on how the victim and suspect may have known each other but continue to track Singh’s movements and are working with national and international law enforcement agencies to locate him.
Anyone with information about Singh’s whereabouts or the incident is urged to contact the Niagara Regional Police Homicide Unit at 905-688-4111, option 3, extension 1009451.
