‘Canada Strong Pass’ Launches June 20 with Free Parks, Museums, and Rail Travel for Families

Prime Minister Mark Carney’s much-anticipated Canada Strong Pass will officially roll out on June 20, offering Canadian families a summer of free access to national attractions and discounted travel aimed at strengthening national unity and boosting tourism.

A government spokesperson confirmed that the pass will be active from June 20 through the end of August, delivering on several key campaign promises made during the recent federal election.

Designed to benefit young Canadians, the Canada Strong Pass offers free access to national museums and galleries for anyone under the age of 18, along with free VIA Rail seats for minors travelling with their parents. In addition, all Canadians will enjoy reduced rates for camping in national parks and free entry to national parks and historic sites throughout the summer.

Carney had framed the initiative as a unifying response to growing tensions with the United States, suggesting the pass would help reconnect Canadians to their shared heritage and landscapes at a time of global uncertainty.

Via Rail Canada has thrown its support behind the initiative, with a spokesperson saying the company is “proud” to help young people and their families explore Canada.

Further details about the pass, including how to access it, are expected to be released in the coming days.
