Canada Stands United Against Unjust Tariffs: MP Sonia Sidhu Affirms Commitment to Protecting Jobs and Supporting Businesses

In response to recent unjust tariffs imposed on Canadian products, Member of Parliament Sonia Sidhu has reiterated the federal government’s unwavering commitment to defending Canada’s economic interests, safeguarding jobs, and supporting businesses nationwide.

MP Sidhu emphasized Canada’s resilience and unity in confronting these trade challenges, stating, “Canada stands strong and united in the face of unjust tariffs. We will not back down.”

To counter these measures and protect the nation’s economic stability, the federal government has implemented a 25% tariff on $155 billion worth of goods. This decisive action aims to shield Canadian industries and maintain the integrity of the national economy. MP Sidhu highlighted this strategy, noting, “Our federal government is taking decisive action with 25% tariffs against $155 billion of goods to protect our economy and jobs.”

The government’s priority remains clear: to safeguard the livelihoods of Canadian workers and ensure the continued prosperity of businesses across the country. MP Sidhu affirmed this commitment, stating, “Our priority is clear: to safeguard Canadian workers and businesses.”

In addition to these measures, the government is actively supporting small businesses through initiatives such as the new Canada Carbon Rebate for Small Businesses, delivering over $2.5 billion to approximately 600,000 Canadian enterprises. Efforts are also underway to lower credit card transaction fees, further aiding small business owners.

MP Sidhu’s consistent advocacy reflects the government’s dedication to standing with Canadian workers and businesses, utilizing every available tool to navigate and overcome these unjustified trade challenges.
