Police north of Brampton have opened a new community safety office in Bolton, aiming to strengthen local connections and support a more prevention-focused approach to policing.
The Ontario Provincial Police Caledon detachment officially opened the office Monday inside the Humber River Centre. The move relocates the safety office from the Caledon Centre for Recreation and Wellness to a more central location.
Police say the new site brings services closer to residents, businesses and community organizations, improving accessibility, visibility and day-to-day engagement with officers.
Caledon Detachment Commander Natalie Majer said the location supports the OPP’s goal of proactive, community-based policing.
“This central location increases visibility and accessibility, strengthens collaboration with residents and community partners, and enhances service delivery,” Majer said in a release.
The office will also function as a hub for partnerships between the town, police and community groups, helping ensure safety initiatives reflect local needs.
Caledon Mayor Annette Groves called the move a significant step for the community, noting that having officers based in downtown Bolton will strengthen relationships and keep policing services closely tied to residents.
The Caledon community safety office is located inside the Humber River Centre at 28 Ann St. in Bolton.
