Caledon and OPP Urge Safety as Fall Colours Draw Visitors North of Brampton

The Town of Caledon and Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) are advising residents and visitors to plan ahead as fall colours return, with larger-than-usual crowds expected north of Brampton this autumn.

Every year, the region’s vibrant foliage draws visitors from across the GTA to explore parks, trails, and unique landmarks. This year, Caledon officials anticipate even greater numbers and are encouraging safe, respectful visits.

Drivers are urged to expect delays, particularly on weekends when parking is extremely limited. To ease congestion, visitors are encouraged to plan weekday trips. Police warn that vehicles parked illegally may face fines or towing, and all visitors must comply with the Town of Caledon’s by-laws.

Parking is available at popular attractions, including the Cheltenham Badlands, Forks of the Credit Provincial Park, and Albion Hills Conservation Area. Officials stress the importance of respecting private property, disposing of litter responsibly, and avoiding restricted areas.

Highlights for visitors include the Cheltenham Badlands, with its rare geological formations and protected viewing platform; Forks of the Credit Provincial Park, featuring scenic trails and fishing spots along the Credit River; and Albion Hills Conservation Area, offering hiking, biking, camping, and one of Southern Ontario’s largest heron breeding grounds.

Authorities remind visitors that while fall is an ideal time to explore Caledon’s natural beauty, safety and respect for the community remain top priorities.
