The City of Brampton is sprucing up the Riverstone Community Centre, rolling out enhancements to make it a better fit for residents as part of its Parks and Recreation Master Plan to champion active lifestyles.
“Riverstone connects us—friends, families, and neighbors. These renovations turn it into an inclusive, uplifting hub for all ages,” said Rowena Santos, Regional Councillor (Wards 1 & 5) and Community Services Chair. “It’s thrilling to build a space where our community can shine.”

The makeover focuses downstairs: a bigger fitness centre for more activities, a flexible community room for programs, and modernized, accessible washrooms. The centre stays open during construction, relocating events as needed, though the elevator will be sidelined until the summer 2025 finish line. Main-floor facilities will bridge the gap.
This fits Brampton’s 2025 plan to pump recreation offerings by 5%, luring 8,000 more users. “Upgrading Riverstone is an investment in Brampton’s spirit,” Mayor Patrick Brown said. “It’s about health, connection, and growth.” More upgrades, like Embleton and Century Gardens, are coming soon.
