Brampton’s Liberal Candidates Launch Federal Campaigns with a Focus on Affordability, Progress, and Community

As Canada heads toward the next federal election, three prominent Liberal candidates from Brampton are officially launching their campaigns with a shared commitment to affordability, fairness, and opportunity for all. Ruby Sahota (Brampton North–Caledon), Sonia Sidhu (Brampton South), and Kamal Khera (Brampton West) are inviting residents to their campaign kickoff events this weekend.

These kickoffs signal the start of grassroots campaigns that put people first. The Liberal government has delivered real results for Brampton families, including:

  • Enhanced GST Credit payments to support low- and modest-income Canadians with rising costs.
  • Canada Child Benefit, tax-free and targeted to families who need it most.
  • $10-a-day child care, already saving families thousands annually.
  • Canada Dental Benefit, helping children and low-income Canadians access essential dental care.
  • Top-ups to the Canada Housing Benefit, offering direct financial assistance to renters.
  • Ongoing increases to Old Age Security (OAS) for seniors aged 75 and older.
  • Support for grocery affordability and basic needs, including direct inflation relief.

The Liberal platform continues to prioritize investments in health care, public transit, education, green jobs, and reconciliation—while maintaining responsible fiscal management and ensuring that the wealthiest pay their fair share.

“Our Liberal team is proud of what we’ve accomplished, but we know there’s more work ahead,” said Ruby Sahota. “We’re listening to Brampton families, and we’re ready to fight for what matters to them.”

“We’ve delivered real help with the cost of living,” added Sonia Sidhu. “Now it’s time to keep building on that progress with compassion and determination.”

“This election is about moving forward together,” said Kamal Khera. “We are building a Canada where no one is left behind.”

Residents are encouraged to attend, volunteer, and be part of the journey toward a stronger, fairer future for Brampton and beyond.
