Brampton Transit Shelters Targeted in String of Vandalism Incidents

Peel Regional Police are actively investigating a series of vandalism incidents involving Brampton Transit shelters. Over three separate nights in August and September, multiple bus shelters were damaged in the early morning hours.

The first incident occurred on Wednesday, August 28, 2024, when eight bus shelters along Ebenezer Road, The Gore Road, and Cottrelle Boulevard were vandalized. A second wave of damage took place on Sunday, September 8, 2024, where six bus shelters along Clarkway Drive and Cottrelle Boulevard were targeted. Most recently, on Friday, September 13, 2024, eight more shelters along Clarkway Drive and Ebenezer Road sustained significant damage.

Peel police are urging the public to assist in the investigation. As of now, there is no suspect information available. Authorities are asking anyone with video footage or relevant information to contact investigators at 905-453–2121, ext. 2133. Additionally, tips can be provided anonymously by calling Peel Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.

This spate of vandalism has raised concerns among Brampton Transit users and city officials, who are calling for increased vigilance in preventing further damage to public infrastructure.
