The City of Brampton will pay tribute to Canada’s veterans and active service members through a series of Remembrance Day ceremonies and parades in partnership with Royal Canadian Legion Branches 15 and 609, reflecting the city’s deep respect and gratitude for those who have served in times of war, conflict, and peace.
As part of Veterans’ Week (November 5–11), Brampton will also observe Black Veterans Day on November 7 and Indigenous Veterans Day on November 8, recognizing the vital contributions of Black and Indigenous Canadians to the nation’s military history.
Ceremonies and Events
The annual Poppy Campaign Flag Raising will take place on Friday, October 31 at 10 a.m. at Ken Whillans Square, officially launching this year’s campaign. Proceeds will support veterans and their families through the Royal Canadian Legion.
A Parade and Service of Remembrance will follow on Sunday, November 2 at 10:50 a.m. at Chinguacousy Park Memorial Square, along with a Candlelight Service the same evening at 7:30 p.m. at the Veterans Statue in Gage Park.
On Remembrance Day, Tuesday, November 11, Brampton will host a Sunrise Service at 7:55 a.m. at Meadowvale Cemetery Main Chapel, followed by the City’s official Parade and Service of Remembrance at Ken Whillans Square Cenotaph at 10:30 a.m.

City Services and Closures
- City Hall and select municipal facilities will be closed on Monday, November 11, while essential services such as Fire and Emergency Services, Traffic, By-law, Road Operations, and Security Services will continue as usual.
- Service Brampton remains available 24/7 via the Brampton 311 app, 311brampton.ca, or by dialing 3-1-1 (905.874.2000 outside Brampton).
- Brampton Transit will operate on a regular weekday schedule. Veterans ride free when presenting a Brampton Transit Veteran Pass, medals, beret, uniform, or service papers. Customer Service Counters at terminals will be open, though Clark and Sandalwood facilities will be closed.
- Brampton Parks and Recreational Trails remain open, with over 850 parks available to enjoy. Recreation centres will operate on regular hours with no programming interruptions.
- Brampton Library branches and the Animal Shelter will be closed, though Animal Services will continue emergency patrols and after-hours responses.
