Brampton Runs with Heart: Over $40,000 Raised for William Osler Health System at Charity Event

Brampton’s community spirit was on full display this weekend as more than 400 participants gathered at Central Peel Turf Field for Run For Brampton 2025, raising over $40,000 to support the William Osler Health System.

Organized by the Ahmadiyya Muslim Youth Association (AMYA) as part of the national Mercy 4 Mankind campaign, the charity run united people of all ages and backgrounds in a shared mission: to give back to the local healthcare system that serves thousands in the region.

Participants took part in 1K, 3K, and 5K walks and runs, with many families, children, seniors, and youth walking side by side—demonstrating Brampton’s diversity and compassion.

Funds raised will help provide critical medical equipment, improve patient care programs, and support ongoing service delivery at William Osler Health System, one of the region’s leading healthcare providers.

The event featured:

  • Health booths offering wellness tips and resources
  • Family activities such as face painting and games
  • Water and snack stations managed by volunteers
  • Award presentations recognizing top runners and community supporters

“This wasn’t just a run—it was a celebration of health, unity, and giving,” said Muhammad Ahmad, one of the lead organizers. “It was inspiring to see people from all walks of life come together for such a meaningful cause.”

The run received added support from Mayor Patrick Brown, who attended as a special guest, offering words of encouragement and praising AMYA’s youth-led initiative. His presence was warmly welcomed by attendees and further highlighted the event’s significance for the city.

Media outlet Y Media Live also spotlighted the event, capturing its energy and broadcasting the message of community service and healthcare advocacy.

What’s Next?
Following Brampton’s successful turnout, AMYA is continuing its Mercy 4 Mankind campaign with upcoming charity runs in Barrie (June 29) and Brantford (July 5), each supporting local hospitals.
