Brampton Ranks Among Canada’s Top Cultural Communities in Culture Days 2025

Brampton has once again been recognized as a national leader in arts and culture, ranking first among urban centres and second overall in Canada on the Culture Days 2025 Top Participating Communities list.

The recognition marks the second consecutive year Brampton has earned national honours, reflecting a city-wide approach focused on neighbourhood access, community participation and strong support for local artists.

During the 2025 Culture Days celebration, held from Sept. 19 to Oct. 12, Brampton delivered more than 325 registered programs and events. Activities took place across neighbourhoods, libraries, public spaces and cultural venues, offering free and low-barrier opportunities for residents to engage in hands-on arts, heritage and creative experiences.

City officials credited the achievement to collaboration between local artists, cultural organizations, community partners and residents. Brampton’s Culture Days programming was supported by partners including the Brampton Arts Organization, Peel Art Gallery, Museum and Archives, Brampton Library, the Downtown Brampton BIA, and numerous independent artists and grassroots groups.

Mayor Patrick Brown said the recognition reflects the creativity and collaboration that define the city, while Regional Councillor Rowena Santos called the honour a testament to Brampton’s commitment to accessible, inclusive and community-driven arts and culture.

The City said Culture Days plays a key role in advancing Brampton’s Culture Master Plan by expanding access to cultural experiences, supporting local creatives and strengthening community connection.

Culture Days will return to Brampton in 2026 from Sept. 18 to Oct. 4, with details on artist participation to be posted at brampton.ca/culturedays.
