Brampton Mayor Patrick Brown to Receive King Charles III’s Coronation Medal

Brampton Mayor Patrick Brown is set to be honored with the prestigious King Charles III’s Coronation Medal in recognition of his significant contributions to the City of Brampton and the province of Ontario.

The medal, introduced in 2023 ahead of King Charles III’s coronation, has been awarded to individuals who have made notable contributions to Canada or its provinces, regions, or communities, as well as those whose achievements abroad bring credit to the nation.

Mayor Brown will receive the honor at a ceremony scheduled for Monday at 12 p.m. in Brampton City Hall. The presentation will be made by Brampton MP Shafqat Ali.

About the Coronation Medal

Initially awarded to Lieutenant Governors, Territorial Commissioners, and members of the Canadian Armed Forces, the Coronation Medal acknowledges exemplary service and achievements. Of the 30,000 medals to be distributed, 4,000 are designated for members of the Canadian Armed Forces, with others awarded to public service employees and individuals across Canada who have significantly impacted their communities.

To be eligible, recipients must have been alive as of May 6, 2023. The medal can also be awarded posthumously to recognize contributions made before this date.

Mayor Patrick Brown’s recognition highlights his ongoing efforts to enhance Brampton’s development and his leadership within Ontario. The city expressed pride in his achievements, underscoring the impact of his contributions to the community.

The public is invited to join the ceremony at Brampton City Hall to celebrate this honor.
