Rowena Santos Drives Forward Brampton Youth Pass Program Expansion Efforts
The City of Brampton is once again encouraging local youth to explore their city and stay active this summer with the launch of the Explore Brampton Youth Pass program for the third consecutive year.
Last year, 1,680 Explore Brampton Youth Passes were distributed, and this year, the city is expanding the program by offering up to 2,500 passes to Brampton residents aged 12 to 16 years old. Priority will be given to vulnerable youth.
Passholders will enjoy free fares on Brampton Transit and complimentary access to select Brampton recreation drop-in programs, including swimming, skating, and select sports. The passes will be valid throughout the summer months, from July 1 to September 4, 2024.
Applications for the Explore Brampton Youth Pass are now open and can be submitted online. Eligible residents are encouraged to apply before the application deadline of 5 pm on May 19, 2024.
“Empowering Brampton’s youth to explore, engage, and thrive, the Explore Brampton Youth Pass ignites a summer of discovery and activity. With free transit and access to recreation, it’s more than a pass; it’s a gateway to opportunity. As Brampton continues to champion growth and development for young residents, this pass reinforces our commitment to fostering a future where every youth can flourish,” remarked Patrick Brown, Mayor, City of Brampton.
“As Chair of Community Services, I am proud to announce the continuation of the Explore Brampton Youth Pass program for its third consecutive year. This initiative underscores our dedication to empowering Brampton’s youth by providing opportunities for exploration and physical activity. With an increased offering of up to 2,500 passes, prioritizing vulnerable youth, we aim to extend the reach of this impactful program even further. I encourage all eligible youth to seize this opportunity and embark on a summer filled with discovery and growth,” added Rowena Santos, Regional Councillor, Wards 1 & 5; Chair, Community Services.
