Brampton Jewelry Store Robbed in Broad Daylight: Police Seek Public’s Help

On Friday, November 8, 2024, at approximately 1:45 p.m., Karolbagh Jewellers, located at the intersection of Torbram Road and Peter Robertson Boulevard in Brampton, was subjected to a brazen daylight robbery. Video footage circulating online captures individuals dressed in dark clothing forcefully entering the store through shattered windows. During the incident, a bystander is heard contacting emergency services as the events unfold. The suspects are later seen exiting through the same broken windows and fleeing the scene.

Peel Regional Police spokesperson Richard Chin confirmed that officers responded promptly to the robbery. “Several suspects smashed their way into the store and subsequently fled the area with an undetermined amount of property,” Chin stated. Fortunately, no physical injuries to the store staff were reported.

The central robbery bureau of Peel Regional Police has initiated an investigation into the incident. Authorities are appealing to the public for assistance, urging anyone with information or dashcam footage from the vicinity around the time of the robbery to contact Peel Regional Police or Crime Stoppers.

This incident is part of a concerning trend of jewelry store robberies in the Brampton area. In December 2023, a jewelry store in Bramalea City Centre was targeted by hammer-wielding suspects who damaged display cases and stole merchandise before fleeing.

Similarly, in January 2024, multiple smash-and-grab robberies occurred in Mississauga and Brampton, leading to the arrest of several individuals.

The recent spate of jewelry store robberies has raised concerns among local business owners and residents. Authorities are intensifying efforts to address this issue and are encouraging community members to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities.
