A firefighter and a resident were hospitalized following a house fire in Brampton on Sunday, July 27, prompting an investigation by the Ontario Fire Marshal.
The blaze broke out in the area of McVean Drive and Ebenezer Road, with Brampton Fire & Emergency Services reporting heavy smoke shortly after 5:30 p.m. Officials advised residents nearby to stay indoors and avoid the area due to hazardous conditions.
By 7:30 p.m., fire crews had brought the fire under control, and overhaul operations were underway to ensure the structure was safe. Both the injured resident and firefighter were transported to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
The Ontario Fire Marshal has launched an investigation to determine the cause and origin of the fire.
