Brampton Celebrates National Youth Week with Free Events, Skills Programs and Summer Pass

The Brampton is inviting young residents to take part in National Youth Week from May 1 to 7, 2026, with free programs focused on wellness, sports, careers, arts and community leadership.

The week is designed for youth ages 14 to 29, offering hands-on experiences and opportunities to connect, learn new skills and help shape the city.

What’s Happening During Youth Week?

Mental Health & Wellness

Programs include youth-led discussions and workshops on resilience, self-care and online well-being.

Featured sessions:

  • Mental Health & Wellness Workshop
  • Empowering Minds Workshop
  • Online Overdrive Workshop

Careers, Business and Future Skills

Young entrepreneurs can explore business ideas through sessions like:

  • Rock My Business Idea (virtual workshop)

Additional career events and skill-building activities will also be offered.

Recreation and Sports

Fun and active programs include:

  • Next Gen Youth Cup soccer competition
  • Carnival Night with games, entertainment and treats

Arts and Culture

Creative youth can participate in:

  • Pass the Mic – Jazz Night (poetry, music, comedy and performance)

Community Service

Youth can earn volunteer hours and support the environment through park cleanups at:

  • Fletcher’s Green Community Park
  • Komagata Maru Park

Explore Brampton Youth Pass

Applications are also open for the Explore Brampton Youth Pass, which gives eligible youth access to:

  • Free transit
  • Recreation opportunities
  • Summer activities across the city

Applications are open until May 17, 2026.

Brampton is one of Canada’s youngest cities, with more than 153,000 youth. Programs like these help reduce barriers, promote belonging and support leadership, health and opportunity.

Patrick Brown said Youth Week celebrates the ideas, creativity and leadership of young people.
Rowena Santos said the programming reflects the energy and diversity of Brampton youth.

For Brampton youth, this is a chance to try something new, meet others, gain skills and enjoy free experiences across the city.
