Brampton and Caledon Come Alive with a Month of Free Arts, Music, and Culture

Culture Days 2025 is officially underway, bringing a full month of free events, performances, and creative workshops to Brampton and Caledon. The province-wide festival kicks off this Friday with a launch event and after-party featuring a guided art tour, hands-on activities, and live music to set the tone for the weeks ahead.

Running until October 12, Culture Days aims to spotlight the richness of local arts, culture, and heritage by featuring artists, musicians, and performers from across the region. This weekend, residents can enjoy city-wide performances curated by Brampton artists, with venues turning into vibrant hubs of creativity.

Among this year’s highlighted participants is Meegan Lim, a Brampton-based illustrator and arts facilitator whose visual storytelling explores food, cultural identity, and community healing. Lim’s work has been featured in national publications such as Chatelaine and Eater and displayed in books and exhibitions across Canada.

Also featured is Angelica Candido of Happy Hands Pottery and Art Studio, a multidisciplinary artist whose paintings and poetry examine themes of heritage, healing, and transformation. Her work invites participants to use art as a tool for connection and reflection.

Rounding out the festivities is Raíces y Ritmos, a four-part Latin dance and culture series from the Brampton Latinos Association. Each event pairs live performances with community dance lessons in Bachata, Salsa, Merengue, and Cumbia, offering both entertainment and education on the cultural roots of these genres.

With hundreds of free activities spread throughout the month, organizers are encouraging residents to come out, get involved, and celebrate the creativity and diversity of their communities. Full event details are available at Brampton.ca and Caledon.ca.
